Before saying anything else, if you have an issue with bugs. If the idea of large insects really, really freaks you out, you should, unfortunately, look for another Doctor Who book.
This was my first novel featuring the new doctor and it did not disappoint. Mike Tucker wrote in such a way that I could hear Twelve's and Clara's voices saying the lines. You know a Doctor Who novel is good when you can hear the actor's voices and the book almost reads like an episode.
My only complaint is as I was reading, sometimes some plot twists didn't make sense, but they were all explained by the end. Some of the pieces didn't make sense when looked at individually, but they all made a cohesive whole.
In all, I would recommend this to any and all Doctor Who fans. But to repeat my concern about the bugs. If you have entomophobia (fear of bugs), either get over it or find another book. I don't have an issue with bugs and this book almost gave me one.
